Daily Five
Five questions, five different ways to think. Today's set mixes meaning, origin, vocabulary and deduction into one short daily puzzle.
How to play
Each day has exactly five mini-rounds: a multiple-choice meaning question, an origin question, a word/name classification question, a short text-answer clue, and a match-two mini puzzle. The set is identical for all users on the same date.
What this puzzle teaches or tests
Daily Five combines multiple puzzle types into one compact daily challenge, drawing on the same curated data as the individual games and articles.
A compact mixed challenge
Daily Five changes at midnight UTC and combines several clue styles in one short round. A question may ask about a name’s origin, a documented meaning, a spelling pattern or a language word. Each answer is followed by a concise explanation so the round remains useful even when you miss a clue.
The five-question limit makes the game easy to revisit, while a locally stored streak records consecutive daily completions on this browser. No account or leaderboard is involved. If you use a hint, the game reveals only enough information to keep the next choice meaningful.
A finished round shows the answer to every question and a compact result strip that can be shared without revealing personal information. Returning on another day produces a new selection, while the language and meaning articles remain available whenever you want to verify a distinction in more depth.
Use the explanation after each choice to notice why an alternative was wrong, not just which button scored a point. Across different days the mix revisits familiar ideas from new angles, helping distinctions such as word versus name, literal versus derived meaning and spelling-dependent meaning become easier to recognize.
