Editorial policy
VooWood publishes explanatory articles, reference entries and puzzle clues about names and language.
Accuracy before list length
We would rather publish ten defensible examples than fifty attractive but invented ones. If a term is a normal dictionary word rather than a traditional personal name, we label it. If a connection is symbolic rather than literal, we say so.
Meanings need context
Names can change across time and languages. Japanese readings can map to different kanji. Ancient names may contain elements whose historical meanings differ from similar-looking modern words. Modern word-names may be valid creative choices without being traditional names.
Corrections
When a factual error is identified, the affected article or data entry should be corrected rather than silently defended. Material corrections should update the page's revision date.
Original work
VooWood content must be written for VooWood. We do not republish other sites' articles, scrape name lists, or copy product descriptions. Short factual data points may be researched from dictionaries, linguistic references, historical sources and reputable name databases, then synthesized in original language.
Advertising independence
Advertising does not determine which names, languages, games or conclusions appear in editorial content.
