Word Chain
Build a five-link chain. Each answer unlocks the clue for the next link, moving from one name or word to another through meaning, language or spelling.
How to play
Read each clue and type your answer. The chain is semantic, not last-letter-becomes-first-letter. Use one hint per step if needed, or skip to the next clue. Each step solved without a hint is worth more points.
What this puzzle teaches or tests
Word Chain tests the ability to follow semantic connections between names and words across languages and themes. Each chain tells a coherent mini-story from one idea to the next.
Follow the connection from clue to clue
A Word Chain round contains five linked answers. One clue may lead from a Latin word to a related name, then to a Japanese term that shares the same theme. Type each answer, use the first-letter hint when needed, or skip a link and continue to the summary.
The connection can be semantic, historical or based on spelling, and the clue tells you which kind to look for. Because the chains are pre-authored from VooWood’s local reference data, the game can explain the route between answers instead of relying on arbitrary generated associations.
A summary at the end lists the path you followed, including any skipped answer, so you can review the whole sequence. The score rewards solving without hints but never blocks the explanation. A new chain begins with a different pre-authored thematic route when available.
Typed answers are compared without capitalization and common accent marks, while the visible solution preserves its normal spelling. The chain’s thematic movement is explained by the individual clues rather than hidden in metadata. This prevents the daily result or a shared page preview from giving the answers away.
